For Joyce and David:

In visiting Alec's place on September 8, 2002, 聖木才 saw one of Alec's beautiful table center pieces with last two lines of the following poem. He attempted to translate the whole poem into English for his kids.

The poem describes a scene in winter where an old man was enjoying his fishing sport.

The poem goes:

River and Snow

When all the birds had flown to a warmer place

And nowhere could you find any footprint or shoe lace

There in a boat an old man wearing a raincoat made from hay

Enjoyed fishing in the river on a snowy day.
